Brenda Brenda Buffalino performs and teaches throughout the U.S. and in Israel, Italy, England, Germany, France, Australia and now also in Finland!. She has appeared as a guest soloist in such prestigious arenas as Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall the Apollo Theater, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Smithsonian Institute, and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. In 1986, Ms. Bufalino formed The American Tap Dance Orchestra. An ensemble of dancers, backed by vocalists and musicians, the ATDO has developed a totally new concept in contemporary ensemble tap: ensemble tap in orchestral form. The dancers' feet are the instruments; using their feet, they create a spectrum of musical tones and rhythms in the manner of a conventional orchestra. Her choreography has also been commissioned by performers and touring ensembles across the country including Rhythm & Shoes, Tappers With Attitude, the Jefferson Dancers, and the Manhattan Rhythm Kings. |

Isabelle Danseuse, formée par Victor Cuno et Fabien Ruiz, elle donne stages et cours particuliers en France et en Europe, après avoir enseigné 3 ans à Amsterdam. Elle travaille depuis plusieurs années avec les américains Sam Weber, Lane Alexander et Rod Ferrone et se produit sur scène avec eux. Elle a poursuivi sa formation aux Etats-Unis en 2002, auprès des tap-dancers new-yorkais Roxane Butterfly, Barbara Duffy, Max Pollack et Tamango. Chorégraphe, elle s'est récemment inspirée de la musique du jazzman Franck Avitabile pour des chorégraphies qu'elle a créées avec lui sur la scène du festival "Claquettes et Jazz en Bretagne ". |

Savion Savion Glover is one of the youngest men to be nominated for a Tony Award for his performance in Black and Blue. He made his Broadway debut as the title character in The Tap Dance Kid at the age of 12. He appeared on Broadway opposite Gregory Hines in Jelly's Last Jam and toured with that show. In 1988 , Savion co-starred in the film Tap with Mr. Hines and Sammy Davis, Jr. On television he has appeared in Dance in America: Tap! with Mr. Hines and Tommy Tune for PBS and Nickelodeon, The Academy Awards, Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame and is currently a series regular on Sesame Street. He has also danced in a tribute to the Nicholas Brothers on The Kennedy Center Honors for CBS. In 1996, Savion won the Tony award for his dancing and choreography of the Broadway smash-hit, Bring In Da Noize, Bring In Da Funk. Savion has danced on concert stages throughout the world, including the Moulin Rouge, Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall. He recently choreographed a work for the Washington Society for the Performing Arts in association with the NEA and has just received an Endowment Grant for Choreography, making him the youngest person in NEA history |

| Gregory Hines, the Tony Award-winning tap-dancing actor who starred on Broadway as well as in many films, including "The Cotton Club," has died at the age of 57. Hines, considered one of the top dancers of his generation, died on Saturday night in Los Angeles of cancer, said Allen Eichhorn, a spokesman for Hines. The native New Yorker, who won a 1992 Tony for the musical "Jelly's Last Jam," first found fame performing jazz tap with his brother Maurice, working together in the musical revue "Eubie!" in 1978 and in "Sophisticated Ladies." Hines landed his first film role in the 1981 Mel Brooks comedy "History of the World Part I," in which he played a Roman slave as a last-minute replacement for Richard Pryor.Landing a leading role in Francis Ford Coppola's hit "The Cotton Club" in the mid-1980s cleared the way for more film work, including "White Nights," in which he starred with Mikhail Baryshnikov and with Billy Crystal in 1986's "Running Scared." Hines also appeared with Whitney Houston and Angela Bassett in 1995's "Waiting to Exhale," among other movies. Hines nabbed several Emmy Award nominations, most recently in 2001 for his lead role in the mini-series "Bojangles." He was a great artist and a great man, sorry that he left us so early .. |

Steven (Brésil) e-mail De nationalité américaine, il étudia la danse à New York et vit depuis 1991 à Rio de Janeiro où il travaille sans relâche pour le développement des claquettes. De 1992 a 1995, son spectacle "Preto e Branco" (Noir et Blanc) connut un vif succès au Brésil, suivi en 1996 par "Jungle Tap!", un duo de basse et claquettes avec le contrebassiste et chanteur Bruce Henry. Bien connus du public brésilien, ils eurent l’honneur de jouer, entre autres, au Festival de jazz de Montreux en juillet 2000, ainsi qu’au New York Tap Dance Festival, en 2001. En juillet 2002, Steven participa comme soliste de la soirée «All Stars » du même festival. CORNELL Heather Cornell is the choreographer for the Broadway comedy The Play What I Wrote, currently running at the Lyceum Theatre. She is the artistic director and principal choreographer for Manhattan Tap, a company she co-founded in 1986 as a New York-based ensemble of tap dancers and live musicians. She is known worldwide for her collaborations on original music for tap. In October 2000 she debuted her show Notes to Soné with composer Bob Telson (Gospel at Colonnus) and Argentinian accordianist Chango Spasiuk. In June of 1998 she premiered her full-length work Excursion Fare at New York's Joyce Theatre, with a world music blend by Keith Terry and Crosspulse. She collaborated twice with the late jazz icon Ray Brown, and in 1997 performed in concert with his trio at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall. She has collaborated with Manhattan Tap's musical director, composer/pianist Keith Saunders since 1989. She has performed worldwide with her company at venues such as Riverside Theatre in London, England, The Apollo Theater in New York, and The Aspen Dance Festival in Aspen, Colorado, as well as on tours of North and South America, across Europe and in China. |

Pascal HULIN started his career in Paris as a trumpetist and played in Big Bands with musicians of the Glenn Miller and Duke Ellington orchestras. Having had an extensive training in performing arts at the same time, he finally became a tap dancer. Pascal has appeared in most European jazz clubs, at the famous Paris Olympia and in many TV-programs. After 17 years in Paris he went to Berlin, where he created his first tap company, then moved to Vienna where he has directed and choreographed several tap shows. |

A new York, Olivia a été co-chorégraphe/soliste de Ka-Tap, un spectacle mélangeant musiques de l’Inde du Nord, danse Kathak, claquettes et musique jazz et soliste et vocaliste de Tap Express (Robin Tribble). Olivia a tourné avec Manhattan Tap (Heather Cornell) dansant avec Buster Brown, le trio jazz de Ray Brown, et Keith Terry. Avec sa partenaire Mari Fujibayashi Olivia a fondé Tapage, une compagnie de danses percussives contemporaines qui tourne collabore internationalement avec des musiciens classiques, jazz et de musiques du monde. VAN “THE MAN” PORTER (CHICAGO) Van Porter was a featured dancer in the Broadway musical Black and Blue and studied with Maceo Anderson, whom he portrayed in a tribute to the Four Step Brothers. An eight-time winner on "Star Search," he reached the finals as a member of the "Rhythm Kings." He has toured the US, Japan, Switzerland, Spain and France and worked with such greats as Tito Puente, George Benson, Carrie Smith, Cab Calloway and Wynton Marsalis. He performed for the President of the United States at the Kennedy Center Awards honoring th Nicholas Brothers and also performed in the Lincoln Center Jazz Program, "The Majesty of Tap" with Jimmy Slyde. His recent credits include a tribute to Jimmy Slyde, a performance for the King of Morocco and a tribute to Duke Ellington. he can be seen in the movie "Tap" and in a documentary about Clayton "Peg Leg" Bates.
