Contemporary dance:
Martine KAISSERLIAN 
July 25 to 30 / August 1 to 6 / August 8 to 13
Movement analysis:
After many years of training in France, Martine gained a scholarship from the British Council of Arts for the LABAN Centre in London, which made it possible for her to work with great masters such as Yuriko, Merce Cunningham, M.Louis aswell as Karin Weahner, Clay Tagliaferro and many others. Constantly trying to deepen her knowledge and understanding of these techniques, Martine Kaisserlian developed a work based on fluidity, sensitivity and awareness of the body. Besides contemporary dance she also teaches movement analysis which is fundamental for any dance student.

Contemporary dance:
  Denis GIULIANI (repertory)
July 25 to 30 /August 8 to 13
Formé au centre de danse international rosella Hightower, il intègre le jeune ballet de France puis fait une carrière d'interprète auprès de chorégraphes contemporains (système castafiore, D.Boivin, P.Decoufle) .
En 2008 il crée sa compagnie : Mobil Home
Pédagogue, il est chargé de cours a l'université de Nice ou il enseigne la danse contemporaine et la production scénique. Il est missionné dans divers conservatoires et écoles de danse et est jury fédéral au sein de la fédération française de danse.. Passionné par « le corps en mouvement » il explore très tôt les techniques permettant d'optimiser l'approche corporelle en relation avec un travail artistique( chorégraphique ou théâtral ).

Contemporary dance:
Gildas DIQUERO  July 25 to 30 / August 1 to 6
Gildas Diquero a étudié au Conservatoire National Superieur de Paris. Il a travaillé sous la direction de Roland Petit, John Neumeier, ainsi qu'àOpera de Dresden, au Grand Théâre de Genéve, au Ballet de Lucerne et au Ballet de Bern. Il poursuit ensuite une carrière de danseur et chorégraphe free lance à Paris, Zurich et Londres. Performeur aux multiples facettes, il collabore avec sur les projets les plus variés. Danse pour Pal Frenak, Pablo Ventura, Jochen Heckman, Retina, Fin Walker, Cathy Marston, ARC Dance, Richard Alston Dance Company, Covent Garden et le Royal Theatre de Londres.
Depuis 2005, il travaille avec la Compagnie Humaine d'Eric Oberdorff, le Système Castafiore, Michel Kelemenis. Gildas Diquero propose un cours qui associe une base Cunningham, la technique release et le travail au sol afin de préparer le corps du danseur à une gestuelle fluide et dynamique. Du répertoire de la Compagnie Humaine sera proposé, ainsi qu'un travail de création induisant des notions de composition et d'improvisation de la part des participants

Sylvie LAVIGNE

After having studied at the Rosella Hightowers International Dance Centre, Sylvie Lavigne worked as a soloist for Joseph Rusillo Ballet Theatre and then for Théâtre du Silence where she danced on international stages in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Russia, Korea, etc...)
She then settled in Cannes and formed her own company "SYLVIE L" 25 years ago.
After studies in yoga and and then Tai-chi, Sylvie discovered the Feldenkrais method and was trained as a teacher by Myriam and Sabine Pfeiffer at the Accord Mobile de Paris.


Ballet:
Luca TOZZI  July 25 to 30 / August 1 to 6
Danseur au Ballet de l’Arène de Vérone, Théâtre Régio de Turin, Ballet de Venise, Capitole de Toulouse, a travaillé avec des chorégraphes tels que: Oscar Araiz, Fernando Bujones, Nacho Duato, Robert North, Hans van Manen, Glen Tetley, Angelin Preliocaj, Lionel Hoche, Mario Pistoni, Roberto Fascilla, Joseph Russillo, Luc Bouye, Mauro Bigonzetti, Thierry Malandain, Davide Bombana.
En tant que chorégraphe il signe plusieurs chorégraphies pour diverses compagnies internationales, il gagne le concours chorégraphique « Prix de Danse » a Cuneo (Italie ) en 2009
La particularité de son enseignement de la Danse Classique est le mariage entre la solidité de la technique Russe et la rapidité e modernité du style Balanchine.

Karin GUIZO

Karine GUIZZO (NTD Cie Jiri KYLIAN)

After finishing her studies at the Rosella Hightower School in Cannes, she danced with the Jeune Ballet de Cannes. One of her first professional engagements was dancing in Gianin Lorginetts' OFF JAZZ DANCE COMPANY, she then continued as a dancer at the Netherlands Dance Theatre 2 in Holland, where she danced for 15 years with the repertoire of Jiri Kylian, Mats Ek, W. Forythe and Ohad Naharin. She also participated in workshops with Lloyd Newson, Min Tanaka, Ko Morobushi, Carolyn Carlson. Karin Guizzo has developed her own work that has been performed in the Netherlands and around Europe. Her class work consists of classical barre work followed by work on the repertoire of J. Kylian and Ohad Naharin.
Assucena ROLLAN

Azucena ROLLAN MAS

After training at the Conservatoire Royal de Madrid and Rosella Hightower in Cannes, she danced as a soloist with the Bavarian National Ballet in Munich and at the Salzburger Theater. She is a teacher at the Conservatoire Royal de Danse and a guest teacher at OFF JAZZ. She is appreciated for her precision and communication of an art that is her real passion.
Angelo MONACO
Jazz dance
:
Angelo MONACO July 25 to 30
Prized for best interpretation at the Torino Jazz Dance Festival, he currently teaches at Offjazz and the Cultural Centre of Biot. He danced with Off Jazz Dance Company and in other productions in Monto Carlo and Paris. He is very apreciated by the students for his creativity and for the very special music he uses in his classwork, a very urban dynamic and sensual work.

Jazz dance:
Hugues SALGAS  August 1 to 6 / August 8 to 13
He performed as a dancer with Paris Jazz Ballet, OFF JAZZ DANCE COMPANY (Gianin Loringett) and Danse Ensemble (G.Armstrong and W.Barbaste). He has also performed in various musical productions such as La Vie en Bleu (R. Hossein) and Sirella (M.Hermine). He currently teaches in Milan and is a guest teacher in France and Italy.

Choreographer and artistic director for OFF JAZZ DANCE COMPANY in Paris and founder of OFF JAZZ DANCE CENTRE in Nice, he devotes all his energy to teaching for festivals, dance workshops and choreography for performances all over the world.
He is a well known and respected choreographer and an exceptional teacher who brings many different dance and musical styles to life. He currently teaches jazz and tap at Off Jazz in Nice and trains students for the french National Diploma in Dance Teaching.

Jazz dance for children, musical comedy  
Katjuscia Onnis trained at Offjazz with Gianin LORINGETT , Angelo MONACO and René LEJEUNE,
after several years of performing she discivered the pleasures of teaching. her work is very appreciated by the students because it has a very personal touch. She is currently teaching in Biot, Grasse and at Offjazz.

Uwe MEUSEL (Musical Tap Company ) August 1 to 6
Using a unique technique based on decontraction looseness (Sam Weber) and director of the "MUSICAL TAP COMPANY" in Freiburg, Uwe Meusel has worked with masters such as; Savion Glover, Van Porter, Sam Weber, Buster Brown many others. His style is based on "the looser you are the faster you tap!" Uwe Meusel has choreographed tap shows with jazz orchestras and internationally known dancers.

Denise BALDWIN
Tap dance:
Denise BALDWIN  (children) July 25 to 30
Denise trazined in London at the Elizabeth Hardiman School of Dance and Arts in ballet, jazz, tap and musical theatre. She has performed in numerous shows and cabarets throughout the world ( Folies Russes, Monte Carlo, Lido de Paris, musicals...) and later turned to teaching. She is a permanent teacher at OFF JAZZ.
Yorma LORINGETT

After completing training in ballet contemporary and jazz, he turned to tap. Trained by Michel Leveillé and Gianin Loringett he follows the work of Uwe Meusel during his workshops. As a dancer he takes part in many productions; musicals (La Rue, staged by Miran), performances with musicians (Caveau de la Huchette, Cannes Water Smposium), Nice Traditional Jazz Festival, events and conventions. He dances with the OFF JAZZ JUNIORS dance company and teaches at the Centre. His strong points are musicality and improvisation.

  HOW TO FIND THE DANCE CENTER?
 Tap dance By plane: From the airport take the bus to the centre of Nice, Gare Routière (bus station). The school is 2 minutes walk away, ask at the Gare Routière.
By train:
From the main train station get bus Nr 15 (Port) and get off at "Promenade des Arts", then ask. The school is 2 minutes walk away.
Gret tram and get off Place Garibaldi (Port)
By Tram: Take direction Pont St. Michel and get off at Place Garibaldi; Map of tram
By car: 1) From Italy: leave the motorway at the "Nice EST exit" (first exit for Nice), then follow signs for the Port. When you arrive at the port ask for rue Cassini.
2) From Cannes: leave the motorway at "Nice CENTRE- Promenade des Anglais", keep going along the sea to the port, ask for rue Cassini.

Fees: any application not accompanied by payment in full will not be registered. Cancellations made before July 6th can be reimbursed, but once the Summer-school has comenced refunds are no longer possible. In the event of illness (on production of a medical certificate) the sum may be credited to the student in the form of lessons or towards a later workshop.

ENTRANCE AUDITION
For entry onto our professional dance courses, candidates are assessed in 3 disciplines: classical ballet, contemporary and jazz

PART-TIME Dance Studies (school programme)
For secondary school pupils between the ages of 11 and 18, a special part time dance course is available.
Auditions held by appointment. Registration must be done at the school once accepted by the dance centre;
 
 
PROFESSIONAL DANCE COURSE

Full time dance course from intermediate level to advanced in all disciplines/ classical ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, movement analysis, repertoire, choreographic studies, music for dance, theory and other subjects related to the arts. The dancers can major in ballet, contemporary or jazz. Auditions will be held during the summer courses.

National Diploma in Dance Teaching
Diploma course for training teachers. This programme is offered full-time (2 years) or part-time for people who are already working as teachers. The dance centre is validated by the Ministère de la Culture. Preparation for the entrance examination (E.A.T. ballet, contemporary, jazz) during the summer course , during the school year (Required level: Advanced). Information on request by mail, telephone or E-mail.

GRANTS
May be given after previous audition to french and foreign male students having already a confirmed level in dance.
